At the core of BreezyPacks are special materials called Phase Change Materials (PCMs).
They work a lot like ice: when ice melts, it absorbs heat from its surroundings, making them cooler. When it freezes again, it releases that stored heat.
PCMs do the same thing, they take in energy when they melt and release it when they solidify, starting as soon as the temperature drops below their set point.
Our PCM has some practical differences compared to ice:
Our PCM solidifies at 27°C (80°F).
That means it can “freeze” at normal room temperature, no freezer needed.
It’s ideal for keeping your medication below 30°C (86°F) and lasts much longer than ice. Ice melts quickly in the heat because its melting point is far below the surrounding temperature. Since our PCM’s melting point is much higher than ice, it stays solid much longer in hot conditions.
And just like ice can freeze and melt over and over without wearing out, our PCM can do the same, it doesn’t degrade and can last indefinitely.
